Hodgkin’s Disease Is a Type Of Lymphoma

It Is a Malignancy Of The Lymph Nodes, In a Single Lymph Node or a Chain Of Nodes.

It Will Metastasis To Non Nodal Lymph Sites Especially The Spleen, Liver, Bone marrow, Lungs, And Mediastinum.

It Is Characterized By Presence Of Reed Sternberg Cells

It Is Confirmed By Lymph Node Biopsy

This Disease Mainly Affects Mid Adolescence

CAUSES

  • Viral Infection
  • Exposure To Alkylating Agents

PROGNOSIS

Good With Long Term Survival Rates

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS

  • Painless Enlargement Of Lymph Nodes.
  • Enlarged, Firm, Non Tender Movable Nodes In Supraclavicular Area
  • For Children The Sentinel Node Located Near The Left Clavicle
  • Non Productive Cough
  • Abdominal Pain

TREATMENT

  • Radiation Therapy
  • Chemotherapy
